    Lead Pastor

Pastor John ("PJ") began in pastoral ministry in 1992 and has served as Lead Pastor in 3 incredible churches--focusing on love for our neighbor and church health. John joined Rolling Hills in July 2020 and has loved making friends with his neighbors in Danville and the San Ramon Valley. His experience includes pastoring in the Chicago suburbs--serving there for nearly 22 years--as well as a storybook town in the mountains west of Denver for 6+ years.

John and his wife Julie married in 1998 and have 4 kids--Jack, Cameron, Ellie, and Caleb--who are spread out all over the U.S. He is an avid Kansas Jayhawk and Kansas City Chiefs fan! (John grew up in Kansas City.)  His education includes undergraduate and seminary training at Maranatha (Wisconsin) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (IL).

PJ has authored multiple books with the hopes of helping people fall in love with God and His Word to them. Included among his books are Begin (Genesis), Word on the Street (Gospel of John), 10 (The Ten Commandments), Homeward Bound (1 & 2 Peter), Walls (Ezra+Nehemiah), as well as Join God and AfterLife.

  • KYLE WILSON

    NextGen Pastor

Who is Kyle? That is a deep question, but we will try to answer it. He was born and raised in the East Bay and has lived here a majority of his life. He married an amazing woman, Annie, in August of 2015. They have two kids, Izzie Rae and Tucker James. Besides a husband and a father, he is an uncle to 10 nieces and nephews (not including their best friends’ kids). He started following Jesus on January 16, 2011, and He changed his life forever. It is still hard for him to believe that he has been working in church ministry since 2012. He graduated with his Masters in Ministry and Leadership from Western Seminary and became a Youth Pastor in 2021. His heart in ministry is for the next generation, especially teenagers. He wants to help them become devoted followers of Jesus Christ and let that change their lives forever!

  • RHEA BOTTEEN

    Leader of Connections

Rhea is a Southern California transplant, having moved to the Bay Area in 2004. She grew up up in a ministry family that served in church and in the world, from theater stages to recording studios to stadiums, and everywhere in between. It’s there she learned to love, serve, and make real connections with people along the way. Rhea is married to Brian, and they have three awesome kids- Joy, Taylor, and Hunter.

At Rolling Hills, she is the champion of making our guests feel welcome and connecting people to our church's many different groups, events, and opportunities to grow in relationships.
